the time that has passed since this little guy came into this world seems to have passed us by WAY too quickly.
four months? really? we have made it through 1/3 of a whole year and none of us have died. I'd say that is an accomplishment in and of itself! we don't completely suck at being parents. it's a nice affirmation. okay so let's see.
Rex loves to:
smile
stand
half-roll over.. yeah, complicated.
talk
imitate daddy
a n d
(wait for it)
laugh!
his laugh is the most amazing little sound I have ever heard. so far, Skyler is his favorite person. his little hero. he will laugh at dad, and dad only. (believe me, I've tried and have remained unsuccessful.) not that it hurts my feelings or anything. totally kidding, it hurts my feelings! I'm home with the kid all day er'ry day and he can't even gimme a little peep? come on, kid. you're killing me!!!
CANCEL THAT!!!!
During my typing break, my little guy laughed at me!!! I was so happy I cried! (hormones may or may not have taken over.. okay, they did..)
he is just the most amazing even tempered funny little guy. we are so beyond blessed to call him ours and to be his parents. the lessons that he teaches us on a daily basis never stop and they always stick closest to my heart. (as an update) I always hear the words "You NEVER forget your first mothers day!" ... well... my first mother's day was one for the books.
we started out the day amazingly well. Hubs had me pick out my dinner of choice the night before at the grocery store and I was super excited to be treated (more than usual) on my first big day. It started out nicely. Skyler woke up with Rex, got himself and the mini ready for church. I got ready as well and even had an amazing un-interrupted shower.. goodness!

We went to church, but the little guy was getting fussy and antsy.. we didn't think about this beforehand and forgot a bottle at home. yeah, that didn't work out too well. We had to leave after Sunday school which I hear I shouldn't have because the mother's day treats in relief society were to die for! we got home and I started to feel a bit queasy so Sky made me some eggs, pancakes and toast to try and settle my stomach. it didn't. I ended up throwing up all day, not even able to keep down saltines and water. Anyone who knows me, knows when I go downhill, I go downhill FAST. We ended up checking me into the ER that night around 8:30pm where, lucky me, I got loaded up with an IV where they doubled up in the Zofran and liquids. I was out and feeling better by about 12:30a the next morning. All while this was happening, Rex stayed sound asleep int he car with Skyler. One I'll never forget. Let's hope next year is better!
Here are some photos to catch you all up on our midget.
